In the scholarly article, the authors point out several challenges that they have researched that a myriad of Chinese students face while being taught in American classrooms. Besides illustrating the effects of how a country’s grammar for a specific language may be rather difficult for Chinese students to comprehend, the author reveals other key issues that Chinese students face- academic pressure, incomprehension of a foreign country’s culture, lack of study skills, etc. The author proceeds to provide a brief background on Chinese student’s education and their culture. By giving the readers a short background, the authors used the information as a pivot to further question and answer the challenges that Chinese students encounter in American classrooms. The authors’ summary of their work only emphasizes the challenges that English
Students Learners have while learning English in a foreign country. However, my summary shows a more outlined description of what the author is actually writing about throughout their article.
